Chemical peels have changed significantly over the past 25 years. In the past, very high-concentration, single-ingredient acids were applied to the skin creating a deep chemical burn requiring weeks of recovery. The "new skin", while free of blemishes and fine lines, was tight and shiny due to scar tissue formation. Not only were these deep chemical peels painful, expensive, and scary, and none of them were safe for melanated skin. Over the years peels have evolved to contain lower concentrated acids blended together, along with other ingredients to target specific concerns with less downtime. At New Image MD, our aestheticians are certified in PCA peels, Obagi peels, ZO peels, and the Perfect Derma Peel. Our chemical peels range from "lunchtime peels", resulting in significant exfoliation with no visible peeling, light peels with some flaking for a few days, and medium-depth peels which will cause you to shed like a lizard. Our licensed aestheticians can create a treatment plan for you based on your skin's condition, skin type, and your tolerance for downtime. You may be started on a skincare before your peel to prepare your skin for the treatment. We may even recommend that we start with a lighter peel and intensify the treatments over time. The Perfect Peel® (medium)

The Perfect Derma™ Peel is a medium depth peel for all skin types & ethnicities. The procedure requires no skin preparation and results in about 3 days of visible peeling. The Perfect Derma™ Peel is the only peel that includes the powerful anti-oxidant Glutathione, which brightens the skin, slows down the aging process and helps prevent wrinkles.

Benefits:

• Stimulate the production of collagen, resulting in firmer, more youthful skin

We recommend a series of 3 peels about 30 days apart for the most dramatic improvement.

PCA® Sensi Peel (light to medium)

The sensi peel was recently reformulated as a unique peeling option for all patients including those with highly sensitive skin. Formulated with 12% lactic acid and 6% TCA, solution will improve surface texture and brighten the skin while helping to promote an even skin tone. For most people, this peel will not produce any visible peeling, though multiple layers can be applied for a stronger peel that may result in flaking.

ZO Stimulator Peel (light)

If you’ve been considering a peel but are feeling a little nervous, then the ZO Stimulator Peel is for you! This glycolic, lactic + azelaic acid is a favorite before big events and is often known as the ‘lunchtime peel’ – the result is a glowing, rejuvenated complexion with no downtime required.

The Stimulator Peel sloughs away dead skin cells and superficial blemishes to reveal clear, fresh skin underneath. It also stimulates cell turnover for ongoing skin health.

Obagi Blue Radiance Peel (light)

It is an excellent choice for those who are prone to breakouts or have marks on the skin from previous breakouts.

A quick, superficial salicylic acid-based facial peel that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. It provides tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin. Salicylic Acid. It also has a blend of lactic and glycolic acids and it has extra calming agents like Willow Bark and Licorice Root, to help soothe your skin. Because of these extra additives to help soothe your skin the peel is ideal for people with sensitive skin. By selecting the number of layers to apply to your skin, we can accurately tailor the chemical peel process to your skin’s individual needs. The Peel also gives us flexibility in treating various parts of your body including the face, neck, chest, hands, back, arms, and legs.

PCA® Jessner Peel (light to medium)

This enhanced Jessner’s peel helps promote an even skin tone and clear complexion and provides more exfoliation for oilier, thicker, and more resilient skin types. It is extremely effective on sun-damaged and thickened skin.

We recommend a series of three peels as part of a treatment plan to treat conditions such as melasma.

We offer several other customized peels that are not listed here. The peel type and treatment plan will be chosen after a thorough consultation, based on your skin and personal goals.

Chemical Peel Aftercare

Discontinue use of retinols and glycolic acids at least 2 weeks prior to appointment.

Pretreat with Hydroquinone if your provider recommended it.
